Our Story

Broadaxe Timberworks specializes in timber frame construction, custom wood furniture and home pieces that will make your home warm, inviting and uniquely you.

We love the idea that our craft allows a tree to live on indefinitely, and your creation today is an heirloom for generations to come. We work one on one with our customers, assuring that we create exactly to their vision.  Our homes and structures are cut and fully assembled in our shop in Idaho to assure every piece fits perfectly. They are then disassembled, shipped to the customer’s site and reassembled with precision and care.

Our work is our passion and our legacy. We care deeply about your project and about creating a dream home that you can pass down to the next generation.

1. Precision Craftsmanship

High quality, hand-cut timber frame work. Old-world artistry with no CNC machines used.

2. Locally-Sourced Timber

We use locally harvested trees whenever possible for our timber frame construction.

3. Environmental Awareness

Responsible tree harvesting is environmentally friendly and encourages energy efficiency.

Owner & Master Craftsman

Jeremy Ford has over 20 years experience working in traditional techniques for timber framing.

Broadaxe Timberworks is a family-owned business, started by Jeremy Ford in 2006, who discovered his love for timber framing as a young teen exploring old barns in northern Maine. Jeremy attended timber framing school in North Carolina and has been dedicated to the craft ever since.  He was soon joined by his brother, Matt, and the two are dedicated to craftsmanship and artistry in wood.
